Content Skill: One skill I have learned this year is how to use the power rule to do simple derivatives. I am choosing this because I was able to figure out the rule before it was explained. The power rule allows your to take the derivative in the same way that a limit definition does but much quicker. The limit definition was a long and difficult process and I tend to get lost and confused when working with it. The power rule for the derivative is much much quicker. You take something like 4x^2 and you multiply the exponent and the (4) letter before the X together and subtract the exponent by one. The answer is 8x.
Problem solving skills: I often have a hard time with figuring out a clear and precise method for going about things. There are often times that I am over thinking things or not thinking of the correct way to go about something. Although when I do understand it I can make a very clear and deep understanding of the problem and what needs to be done. And almost every time that I understand it I get it right.
